A full Planning and Listed Building application has been submitted for a stunning collection of historic Listed buildings in Wadhurst, East Sussex.
The application includes some minor changes to the Grade II Listed Medieval farmhouse, the conversion of a Grade II Listed former granary, a Grade II Listed Sussex barn, and Curtilage Listed oast house, annex and dairy, to provide five new dwellings. Two new houses have been agreed in principal with the planners as “Enabling Development” and have been sensitively sited away from the Listed buildings to avoid compromising the setting of the Listed Buildings. This cluster of new homes will provide a sustainable long term solution for these Heritage Assets which are currently in some peril, by creating a luxury hamlet located within the High Wield Area of Natural Beauty.
The designs and the use of traditional materials and methods of construction will respect the local vernacular and the site layout has been carefully detailed to enhance the established layouts of the historic open spaces.
The new homes will be of a contemporary design. The use of green energy is also a key feature of the scheme.
We anticipate a decision around Easter.
